23 September 2021 - Energy Task Force, Climate Week NYC event

We are pleased to announce that the Energy Task Force will be hosting a virtual side event as part of New York Climate Week, which will be held on Thursday 23 September 2021, 09:00-10:00 EST / 14:00-15:00 BST / 15:00-16:00 CEST.

We invite you to register for the event here: https://birdlife.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_AnLPUSnOTgut0HZ5npgRdA

The side event ‘Meeting global goals on climate, nature and sustainable development through a nature-sensitive renewable energy transition’ is in celebration of Climate Week NYC and the UN High-level Dialogue on Energy, and seeks to showcase key partnerships, mechanisms and innovative tools for the nature-sensitive deployment of renewable energy, such as those developed by members of the ETF. Speakers will highlight opportunities for scaling-up such good practice approaches and will demonstrate how, in light of the ongoing UN High-level Dialogue on Energy and the upcoming UNFCCC COP26, there is an urgent need to commit to and prioritise nature-sensitive renewable energy deployment to deliver on these joint agendas. The event panellists comprise:

· Michel Perret, Ministère de la Transition Écologique et Solidaire, France (ETF Chair)

· Amy Fraenkel, Convention on Migratory Species (CMS)

· Oscar Mohale, Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT)

· Tris Allinson, BirdLife International

· Ben Jobson, Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT).

We hope many of you will be able to attend the event and please share this invitation with anyone in your organisation, or other relevant contacts, who may be interested in attending.
